Construction Lien Perfection

Attorney at LaW

DONALD L. CHRISTIAN JR.

Recently I represented a large Northern Alabama manufacturing company who hired a Birmingham company to install an assembly line at their manufacturing plant and experienced problems with the installation thereafter. I defended in Circuit Court the claims made by the Birmingham company. Before trial a settlement favorable to my client was reached, resulting in a substantial reduction of the amount claimed owing for the work my client believed was defective.

Since the rules and requirements concerning your rights to file and perfect a lien claim are highly technical, and even the slightest mistake can result in total loss of your right to file, or collect on a lien, it is extremely important to have a knowledgable attorney representing you during this process.

In another situation, I recorded and later filed suit to enforce a lien claim for a local electrical contracting company. The contracting company had not been paid for a substantial amount of work performed at a commercial construction site in Huntsville. Before the case went to trial the owners of the property signed a contract to sell the building and because my client had a valid, perfected lien, my client received payment in full from the real estate closing, including attorney's fees and interest.

I have twenty five years experience representing contractors with filing, perfecting, litigating, and collecting construction lien claims. I have represented electricians, plumbers, concrete/brick masons, framers, and other tradespeople. My vast experience will aid you in filing a lien and assuring that you get paid for all the work and materials you, or your company, put in at a construction site.

If you are a contractor or sub-contractor who is concerned that your residential or business customer may not pay for the work, labor, and materials provided by you or your company, then you need a lawyer experienced in filing, perfecting, and, if necessary, litigating construction lien claims in Alabama. Donald L. Christian is the attorney you need!
